More Experience, More Substance, More Impact
It's often thought that some people are blessed at birth with the ability to work effectively with others, and that those who don't have emotional intelligence and empathy are out of luck. At ETC we know differently. Over 30 years we have developed and refined training methods that work for anyone, regardless of profession or personality or past experience.

Helen Hall Clinard founded Effectiveness Training and Consulting in the 1970s. She created a model of human interaction that made it easy for people to identify and appropriately respond to specific behaviors and attitudes they encountered in the people around them.

From the beginning, it was apparent that her Managing Effective Relationships model and its associated skills applied equally well to all interpersonal communications -- in the family, at work, and in community life. It was apparent that the skills, though demonstrably effective, did not come naturally or intuitively to most people. They needed to be taught, practiced, and reinforced. It was apparent to participants in ETC courses that these new skills could very substantially reduce the tension, conflict and frustration in interpersonal relationships, and promote positive, productive collaboration and cooperation. The word participants most often use to describe the effect of using ETC skills is 'magic.'

As the firm has grown, ETC facilitators have taken this extraordinary training to people in the United States and the United Kingdom, to corporations and government agencies, to social service organizations, health care institutions, schools and churches. People who learn to use the skills in one area of life typically carry their newfound abilities into all areas of life. That is, and always has been, the goal of Helen Clinard and the company she founded ø to spread the use of the powerful interpersonal skills that diminish confusion and hostility, increase understanding and respect, and enhance the ability of individuals to make their best contribution to corporate, community and family life. The mission of ETC is to create a profit for the world, in the form of more peaceful and fruitful relationships among people.

No matter what your most critical business challenges are, it's a certainty that clear and empowering interpersonal communications are key to implementing the innovative solutions you need. ETC can help you raise the quality of communications in your organization, quickly and dramatically. Contact ETC to put the power of Managing Effective Relationships to work for you.
